Georgie watched me warm up and did various types of release work on my problem areas, before concentrating on the issue of my floppy back. Due to my birth defects, some areas of my back move more or less than compared to so-called 'normal' people. This means my body wants me to 'flop' backwards in trot especially, so Georgie is helping me tackle this by utilising strengthening and flexibility exercises, both on and off the horses. The first photo is what my upper body would like to do, and the second is what we want it to do! Still a way to go, with lots of shouts from Georgie of 'sternum!' 'shoulders!' 'pelvic floor!' to remind me, but I'm really pleased with the progress today! Thank you.

I have been competing in Triathlons now for 16 years. In 2012 I qualified to compete in the age group team at the 2013 London Sprint Triathlon World Championships. Georgie helped me enormously with my preparation, giving me specific exercises to work on my weaknesses and improve my performance. Since then I’ve gone on to compete at two more International events and Georgie has been an invaluable part of my preparation for them. She has an expert eye for spotting problems and more importantly knowing how to sort them out, tailoring her approach individually and altering it if necessary, giving constant feedback to help me track my progress. I am also a working Mum and Georgie understands the time constraints and pressures that come with this, she is flexible and accommodating to suit my timetable. I see Georgie as an important part of the jigsaw that allows me to continue training and competing at the level that I do and her positivity spurs me on to continue to improve and strive for even better results.

After years of poorly managing my back and core health, I herniated a lumbar disc and I assumed the outlook was gloomy for my outdoor life It was suggested that I talk to Georgie, and after an initial consultation she found the ideal rehabilitation to build my core and identify where my body was compromised. After only a few weeks I was back on a mountain bike, and after a few months back on a surfboard. I understand the nature of my injury much better, the importance of core strength and flexibility and am out living life again. I became stronger while the disc was healing, allowing me to protect my back while doing the things I love. I’d recommend pilates with Georgie to anyone who wants to take control of an injury and not let it limit your life.

Following a fall from my horse, during cross country schooling, I fractured my pelvis. When NHS physio did not provide the desired effect, Georgie Barnes through sports injury massage and one to one pilates sessions, enabled me to make an accelerated recovery, which allowed me to get back on my horse sooner than expected. My posture and body awareness has improved tremendously over the months. This particularly helps me at work where I sit down for far too long each day. However, the most impact is upon my riding and my horse's way of going. My core strength is much improved and as a consequence, my horses ability to hold collection & balance has improved too. I'm much more aware now of how my body feels and I make time each day to stretch out the tight areas, particularly before I ride. I also love your style and way of training Georgie. Motivation Monday! Photo on the left is from 9 years ago, I was 3 years post spinal surgery and very asymmetric. Right photo is from last month, I’m 12 years post surgery and I’m so much stronger!
